It's a diatonic chromatic. Unlike a button box it can play in all the major keys. Cool boxes not very common anymore.

a link to my past, my mom was Croatian and stayed with her aunt Rose and uncle Joe, who owned a tavern in downtown Cleveland, and her uncle was a jeweler and would bring home broken or things that were traded in for new jewelry they didn't have children of their own and gave them to my mom, who cherished them. Mom went to school there while living with them in the 1930s and went to dances and functions with her aunt, and when she returned to Niagara Falls she brought her jewelry with her, some of which I inherited when she passed away, they will always be mine now. She met Frank Yankovic at a party but he was married already but never forgot him, and told me about it.
